Baptism

Baptism is a public testimony of one’s faith in Christ. While not required for church membership or salvation, it is highly recommended for everyone who calls Jesus their Savior. Trinity Church holds multiple baptism opportunities each year, and practices baptism by immersion.

Why should you be baptized? Baptism identifies yourself publicly with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. When we are lowered into the water, it is symbolic of his death and burial, as when we are raised out of the water, his resurrection from the tomb. The water symbolically washes away our sins, and we arise as new creatures.

“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”  Romans 6:4
